SC to hear Justice Jahangiri’s plea tomorrow against order barring him from duties
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court will take up the appeal of Islamabad High Court Judge Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri tomorrow (Monday) against an order restraining him from performing his constitutional duties.
A five-member constitutional bench, headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan, will hear the appeal filed by Justice Jahangiri against the order passed by Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar, which restrained him from judicial duties. Other members of the bench include Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi, and Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan.
Meanwhile, Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi has constituted eight benches for the forthcoming judicial week from September 29 to October 3, 2025. Bench No. 1 comprises Chief Justice Yahya Afridi and Justice Salahuddin Panhwar. Bench No. 2 comprises Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Aqeel Ahmad Abbasi. Bench No. 3 comprises Justice Munib Akhtar and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb. Similarly, Bench No. 4 is a constitutional bench comprising Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi, and Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan. Likewise, Bench No. 5 includes Justice Ayesha A. Malik and Justice Naeem Akhter Afghan. Bench No. 6 comprises Justice Athar Minallah, Justice Irfan Saadat Khan, and Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmad Khan. Bench No. 7 includes Justice Shahid Waheed and Justice Musarrat Hilali. Bench No. 8 comprises Justice Shakeel Ahmad and Justice Aamer Farooq.
