Fuuast senate meeting rescheduled to Sept 29
The Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science & Technology (Fuuast) senate’s meeting has been postponed for a second time due to a lack of quorum. The meeting will now be held on September 29.
Only six members attended the meeting on Wednesday: Deputy Chair Jamil Ahmed Khan, Dr Sarosh Lodi, Dr Kamal, Vice Chancellor Dr Zabita Khan Shinwari, Saeed Allahwala and Shakeelur Rehman.
Federal Minister for Education & Professional Training Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui had written to the president, who is Fuuast’s chancellor, that the senate meeting should be postponed until the report of the investigation committee formed to look into Dr Shinwari’s “irregularities” is issued.
Meanwhile, Fuuast Academic Staff Association General Secretary Jamal Akram thanked all the members who did not attend the senate meeting. He said they had demonstrated their camaraderie for teachers, their sense of principles, and their support for truth and justice.
