Shehbaz, Modi to address UN on 26th
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will address the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) summit on September 26, while his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi will also address the UNGA on the same day.
Well-placed sources in the UNGA told The News/Jang Tuesday that the Indian prime minister will address the world body in the morning as he has been marked at the 6th speaker of the day while Shehbaz Sharif will address the house late afternoon since he has been placed as speaker number 15 of the day.
The sources said that it would help Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offer rebuttal of Modi, as he is bound to hurl allegations on Pakistan in his address.
President Trump will host a reception for visiting heads of state and governments on September 23, the day UNGA will commence. Prime Minister Shehbaz has also been invited to it and pleasantly it would also be the birthday of the PM. Interestingly, Shehbaz Sharif and Modi would be second time under one-roof in New York’s Manhattan city in less than a month but there is no probability of even shaking hands between them like the Tianjin city of North China where they were at the same place for two nights at the SCO summit early this week but they didn’t come across each other.
