PESHAWAR: The black box of the crashed helicopter was recovered from Mohmand tribal district as investigation into the incident continued on Sunday.

Reports said the black box and other parts of the crashed chopper were recovered over a hundred meters from the place where it crashed.

The black box or the flight recorder is crucial for investigations in a crash, helping to determine the causes of incidents and prevent future tragedies as it keeps a record of cockpit audio and flight data.

All the crew members were martyred when a MI-17 helicopter of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government carrying relief supplies for flood victims of Bajaur crashed in Mohmand district on Friday.

The incident occurred in Chenagai Banda of Mohmand district. According to initial information, the helicopter lost air contact due to bad weather before it crashed.

It was busy in the rescue operation for the flood victims of Bajaur when it met the accident.
