Mixed reaction over leader’s rejoining PPP

CHITRAL: The return of Shahzada Khalid Pervez to the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in Chitral has triggered a debate among the local activists.Shahzada Khalid Pervez rejoined the party at a meeting with Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and PPP’s provincial leadership in Peshawar a day earlier.

Khalid Pervez had left PPP in 2023 to join the PTI Parliamentarian. While the provincial leadership has no objection, a number of district leaders and party workers are strongly against his comeback.

District leaders have openly stated that they will not accept Khalid Pervez “under any circumstances.” However, PPP’s Tehsil Drosh leadership and local workers in Khalid’s home constituency fully support his return. Khalid Pervez previously served as Tehsil Chairman of Drosh but resigned from the post when he left PPP.
