Three candidates finalised for GCUH VC post
Three candidates have been finalised for the post of vice chancellor of the Government College University Hyderabad (GCUH), the only Sindh government university in the second-largest city of the province.
A search committee meeting headed by Sindh Higher Education Commission Chairman Dr Tariq Rafi placed Moazzam Ali Khan, former registrar of the University of Karachi and former director of the Institute of Environmental Studies, first.
Dr Imamuddin Khoso, former pro VC of the Mirpurkhas Campus and the director of IBA Sindh University, has been placed second, while Dr Mir Muhammad Shah, the PVC of IBA Sukkur University, has been placed third.
One hundred and sixty-four candidates had applied for the GCUH VC post, of whom 130 were shortlisted and the candidates’ interviews continued for several days. The three names finalised for the post will be sent to three reputable agencies of the country for intelligence clearance, following which the Sindh chief minister will interview the candidates and approve one of them.
