Suspect in assault bid on girl arrested

MULTAN: The Crime Control Department (CCD) has arrested an accused, injured during the operation, for attempting to sexually assault a girl in a posh locality of Multan, officials said on Wednesday.

The incident occurred on July 15, 2025, at 11:34am in Mustafa Colony, Rashidabad, within the jurisdiction of BZ Multan Police Station. The victim was targeted in a street by an unidentified suspect who fled the scene. A case (FIR No. 2669/25) was registered under Section 377B of the Pakistan Penal Code, and the investigation was handed over to the CCD.
