CHITRAL: Following the success of the first-ever trekking expedition to the base camp of Terich Mir, the second group set off from Chitral city early this morning. The team will reach the base camp via the scenic Oweer village route.

The participants were formally seen off at a local hotel by Deputy Commissioner of Lower Chitral, Rao Hashim Azeem, who expressed the administration’s commitment to promoting adventure tourism in the region. He assured continued support for future initiatives aimed at developing Chitral as a key destination for adventure and cultural tourism.

This special trek has been organized by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in collaboration with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the first successful winter ascent of Terich Mir - the highest peak of the Hindu Kush mountain range.

A separate group of female trekkers is also scheduled to embark on the Terich Mir base camp journey in the first week of August, marking a progressive step in inclusive tourism in the region.
