Dawood University VC Dr Samreen Hussain resigns

Dawood Engineering University Vice Chancellor Dr Samreen Hussain has submitted her resignation to the Sindh chief minister citing interference in university affairs by some individuals.

Talking to The News, she said she would continue to carry out day-to-day affairs till her resignation was accepted. She added that she would not take dictation from anyone and would not allow recruitment against merit.

“I am leaving with the additional budget. I only brought my laptop and my car from the office,” Dr Samreen said, adding that her official driver had also left the university, while the official car was never in use.
