HEC convenes VCs Forum
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has called the Vice Chancellors’ Forum on July 24 and 25, inviting heads of over 271 public and private universities across the country just six days before the extended tenure of the current HEC chairperson ends.
However, no formal agenda has been shared with the invited university heads In an official email circulated on Tuesday, the HEC stated that travel expenses would not be covered and must be borne by the respective higher education institutions. However, accommodation would be provided subject to confirmation by 10am the following morning.
The invitation explicitly mentioned that substitutes or nominees would not be accepted in place of vice chancellors, rectors or heads of institutions. The meeting will be held in Islamabad, though the exact venue has yet to be disclosed.
