Quarterly report: 850kgs of drugs seized, 800 POs held in Kohat

KOHAT: The police seized 850 kilograms of narcotics, a huge cache of illegal weapons and arrested 800 proclaimed offenders during operations in the five districts.According to the progress report for the second quarter of 2025 (April to June), the operations were carried out in the five districts of Kohat, Karak, Hangu, Kurram and Orakzai.

In an intensified crackdown on drug trafficking, it said, the police seized over 850 kilograms of narcotics, including 730 kg of charas, 1 kg of heroin, 3.5 kg of crystal meth (ice), 54 kg of tincture and over 200 bottles of illegal liquor.

The region witnessed a substantial haul of illegal weapons, including 1,400 pistols, 180 shotguns, 130 SMGs, 70 rifles, and nearly 30,000 live rounds. Additionally, 20 hand grenades, over 100 kg of explosives, Kalakovs, mortar shells, LMGs, and a sten gun were recovered during targeted operations, significantly reducing the threat of armed violence and militancy.
