LANDIKOTAL: The police uncovered and foiled a planned fake kidnapping scheme and arrested three accused officials on Sunday.Additional Station House Officer Azmat Wali Shinwari told The News that the police received a report about the alleged kidnapping of a man named Rozi Gul.Through professional inquiry and intelligence gathering, police came to know that the reported abduction was staged and that it was a calculated move to fraudulently obtain Rs37.5 million.

The investigation revealed that the fake abduction was designed for monetary gain and that the gang behind the drama included local and international elements. The police successfully arrested the prime suspects and mastermind of the scheme identified as Rozi Gul, along with his two associates Hafiz Noor Habib and Ayanullah. All the three were shifted to the police lock-up for further interrogation. During the operation, police recovered Rs19 million in cash, which had been taken as part of the fraudulent activity. Authorities believed more recoveries may follow as the investigation progresses.
