LANDIKOTAL: Four Afghan Taliban were killed and several others were injured when the US drones targetted their hideouts located in the Afghan Mach Megay area on the Pak-Afghan border near the Landikotal subdivision of Khyber Agency, local sources said on Tuesday.
The sources said the drones fired several missiles at the suspected hideouts of the Afghan Taliban in the Mach Megay area at around 10:15pm. At least four Taliban were killed while many others sustained injuries.
Two of the hideouts were also destroyed in the missile attacks, the sources said. Following the attack, dozens of other fighters reached the destroyed compounds and retrieved the dead and injured persons.
Meanwhile, the Jamrud Khassadars personnel recovered four kilograms of opium from a car (P-999) at Takhta Baig checkpost. The driver identified as Shahid, a resident of Peshawar, was arrested and sent to the Jamrud lock-up for further investigation, the sources said.
