MARDAN: Mayor of Mardan, Himayatullah Mayar, has written a letter to the commissioner Mardan, asking him to solve encroachments and other issues in the jurisdiction of city local government Mardan.
In the letter, the mayor stated that he wanted to bring into the attention of the official in question a pressing concern regarding widespread encroachments on government properties, specifically on irrigation canals, channels, roads, streets, footpaths, roundabout, flyovers, drains in the jurisdiction of city local government Mardan.
He stated that these encroachments, both temporary and permanent, led to blockage of water flow, traffic congestion, hardships for pedestrians. The mayor further stated that the encroachers had grabbed government property and established businesses, further exacerbating the issue.
He stated that the authorities had pledged zero tolerance for encroachments on government property, promising to take swift and severe action against violators. To address this, it was requested to arrange a joint meeting with all executing agencies in Mardan to take prompt legal action against encroachers and chalk out a comprehensive anti-encroachment drive.In the letter, the mayor requested the official to take prompt action over this matter to remove encroachments, restore and safeguard government properties.
