Seven cops dismissed in Khyber
LANDIKOTAL: Seven cops were dismissed from service in the Khyber district due to continuous absenteeism, officials confirmed on Wednesday.
The action was taken on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Khyber, Rai Mazhar Iqbal, who also ordered the transfer of officers in charge of 59 police checkpoints across the district. All newly appointed officers were directed to assume their duties without delay.
The DPO emphasized that these transfers and appointments were part of routine departmental procedures, but accountability and performance-based evaluations would be strictly enforced.
“Negligent officers will face indiscriminate action to ensure better security and effective policing for the public,” he said. He stressed that merit would be upheld and officers playing a proactive role in combating crime would be prioritized. Recently, all Station House Officers (SHOs) across Khyber district were transferred as part of a major reshuffle. However, the SHO of Landikotal was notably retained in his position, sparking heated debate and criticism on social media.
