Training arranged for video journalists
PESHAWAR: A training workshop was arranged at the Peshawar Press Club on Tuesday to enhance the skills and technical expertise of the video journalists.
The initiative, taken by the Video Journalists Forum, was aimed at boosting the capacity of video professionals, enabling them to adapt their work to meet modern media demands. Chief Executive of Peshawar City Institute of Medical Sciences, Ismail Khan, addressed the participants. He emphasized the importance of promoting technological education in Pakistan to meet global challenges.
He highlighted the crucial role of media in raising awareness and stated that video journalists are playing a front-line role in this effort.He stressed the need for professional training in social media, mainstream media practices, and modern technology to help video journalists perform their duties more effectively.
The training, led by Ahmed Nawaz, Chief Executive of Ahmed Productions and Master Trainer, included hands-on sessions on the use of mirrorless DSLR cameras, gimbal 3-axis stabilizers, and live streaming on platforms such as Facebook and YouTube.
President of the forum, Sheikh Ashfaq Hussain, announced that the training series would continue, with more sessions planned to cover advanced technical equipment and media tools.At the end of the workshop, a lucky draw was held, and participants received mobile microphones and other useful gifts to assist them in their fieldwork.
Peshawar Press Club President Muhammad Riaz reiterated the club’s commitment to supporting journalists by providing various forms of training to improve their professional capabilities.The event was attended by over 40 video journalists, including senior journalist Shamim Shahid, video journalist Muhammad Rizwan Sheikh, and forum officials Nasir Naeem, Sabtain Bukhari, and Arsalan Takar.
