Star, Challengers win matches in National T20
KARACHI: The Stars and the Challengers secured victories in Tuesday’s fixtures of the National Women’s T20 Tournament.
At the National Bank Stadium, the Stars defeated the Conquerors by 23 runs — handing the Conquerors their first loss in four matches. Batting first, the Stars posted 145 for 8 with Sidra Ameen’s 78 (3 sixes and 7 fours) while Fatima Sana claimed 3 wickets for 34 runs.
In reply, the Conquerors managed 122 for 7. Fatima Sana scored 38, while Najia Alvi remained unbeaten on 39. Sidra Ameen was named Player of the Match. Meanwhile, at the Oval Academy Ground, the Challengers edged past the Strikers by 7 runs.
The Challengers, batting first, scored 145 for 7 with Aliya Riaz’s 35. Diana Baig and Zunash Sattar took three wickets apiece. In response, the Strikers fell short, finishing on 138 for 7. Iman Fatima scored 56 with 9 boundaries. Sadaf Shams took 3 wickets for 31 runs and was declared Player of the Match.
