LAHORE: The Pakistan Rugby Union has appointed renowned South African coach Van Deventer Ludwich as Director of Pakistan Rugby for a one-year term, marking a significant step forward in the development of rugby in the country.
The appointment, supported by Total Parco, aims to enhance both domestic and international rugby standards by leveraging Ludwich’s extensive expertise. Ludwich brings 22 years of coaching experience to the role, including his tenure at the prestigious Blue Bulls club in South Africa. He is no stranger to Pakistan rugby, having previously served as the team’s head coach last year.
His return as Director promises to create new learning opportunities for players and build on the foundations laid during his earlier stint. Pakistan Rugby Union President Rizwan Malik expressed optimism about the transformative potential of Ludwich’s leadership. “This will make a big difference in the entire system of Pakistan rugby. We have innumerable rugby talent across Pakistan, and in the presence of a foreign director, this talent will get the chance to be polished and come up,” Malik said.
