LAHORE:A meeting was held at the Central Police Office to review steps for activating the newly-approved Crime Control Department (CCD).
The meeting included key police officials, with some joining via video link. Punjab IG emphasised the department's role in targeting major criminals, including drug dealers, kidnappers, and violent offenders. Additional IG CCD briefed attendees on the department's objectives and goals, outlining plans for recruitment, logistics, and operational matters.
The CCD, backed by an advanced criminal database, will focus on high-priority crime areas such as vehicle theft, extortion, and inter-provincial gangs. With 4,000 personnel being recruited in phases, the department aims to enhance coordination and ensure swift action against major crimes.
