SHO, others survive bomb blast in Bajaur
“Security forces have cordoned off the area, and inquiries are ongoing,” says DPO Bajaur
KHAR: The station house officer (SHO) and other police personnel remained unharmed in a bomb explosion near their vehicle in Bajaur tribal district on Thursday.
Police sources said that SHO Khar Police Station, Rashid Ahmed, was traveling with his team when the blast occurred near Tang Khata Bridge. No casualties or injuries were reported.
“Yes, the SHO and his team narrowly escaped the bomb attack,” an official confirmed.
District Police Officer (DPO), Bajaur, Waqas Rafiq, said that an investigation had been launched to determine the cause and perpetrators of the attack.
“Security forces have cordoned off the area, and inquiries are ongoing,” he added.
Though no group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan has intensified attacks on personnel of the law enforcement agencies in recent days.
