IG issues orders for police employees’ relief

LAHORE:Inspector General Police (IGP) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar met police employees and their families, and issued orders for immediate relief.

He issued instructions to the Additional IG for relief on the transfer request of Inspector Abdul Shakoor. On the request of the late Lady Constable Samina Latif's husband, relief was directed to be provided by the DIG Welfare and Finance. On the request of Senior Traffic Warden Nazir Ahmed Shah, relief was directed to be provided by the DIG Organised Crime Unit Lahore. On the request of Lady Constable Gulshan Zulfiqar, relief was ordered to be provided by the DPO Okara. On the financial aid requests of retired Constable Muhammad Riaz and Constable Maqsood Ahmed, IG Punjab instructed the DIG Welfare and Finance to provide relief. IG Dr Usman Anwar also issued orders on various other requests and applications related to discipline, administration, promotion, and welfare.

Police squads hold weekly general parade

Under the directions of IG Dr Usman Anwar, the weekly general parade was held across the province, including Lahore.

Senior police officers inspected the parade, while the parade contingents presented a salute. The general parade saw the participation of Police Lines, Dolphin Force, Anti-Riot Force, Traffic Police, Mujahid Squad, SPU, Ladies Police, OCU, Investigation Wing, and officers and personnel from the Operation Wing of police stations. Senior officers also checked the turnout of the officers and personnel participating in the parade. The disciplined contingents participating in the general parade performed a march past, and female officers also took part. Weekly general parades are being regularly held every Monday across the province. District officers also inspected the canteen, Motor Transport Wing, various stores, uniform depots, and other sections. Dr Usman Anwar said that the purpose of the general parade is to keep the personnel alert and foster an atmosphere of discipline, unity, and brotherhood. He added that a parade is the best display of any force's discipline, and it will also help maintain the fitness of officers and personnel. He said that the parade reflects the history, heritage, and tradition of the police force also.
