FIA obtains physical remand of 11 people who submitted fake documents for US visa
A court handed over 11 people who submitted fake documents of a Lahore university to obtain the US visit visa in the name of attending a conference to the FIA on physical remand, while a girl was sent to jail on Saturday.
According to FIA investigation officer Inspector Babar Ali, the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle arrested 11 people -- Nisar Khan, Malik Muhammad Asfand, Huzaifa Malik, Omar Hayat, Zeeshan Ali, Syed Wasi Ahmed, Quratul Ain Fatima, Shahroz Babar, Aqib Afridi, Osama Imtiaz, Abdul Basit and Muhammad Furqan Ahmed -- from outside the US Consulate on Friday on a complaint from staff of the US Consulate.
According to FIA officials, the accused submitted fake documents of the University of Lahore along with passports and forms to obtain US B1B2 visas. When the consulate verified the above documents, the university administration declared them fake and fabricated. All the accused were produced in court on Saturday.
A case number 66/25 has been registered against the accused under sections 419, 420, 468, 471 and 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code at the FIA Human Trafficking Circle Karachi. Further investigations are being carried out.
