Rich tributes paid to Bacha Khan, Wali Khan
BARA: The leaders of Awami National Party (ANP) Khyber chapter here on Wednesday paid glowing tributes to Abdul Ghaffar Khan known as Bacha Khan and his son Abdul Wali Khan to mark their death anniversaries.
ANP central Secretary General Dr Salim Khan, Vice President Shahi Khan Sherani, Malik Darya Khan Afridi, provincial Joint Secretary Dr Shaheen, ANP district Khyber President Abdul Raziq Afridi, Siddique Chirag Afridi and Shirin Afridi, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Afridi and workers participated in the gathering.
Dr Salim Khan, Abdul Raziq Afridi and other speakers urged the youth to follow the philosophy of Bacha Khan, who advocated non-violence.
They said that Bacha Khan and Wali Khan had rendered matchless sacrifices for the Pakhtuns.“Bacha Khan and Wali Khan advocated non-violence,” Dr Muhammad Saleem said, adding the Pakhtuns should learn from their message of unity, love and brotherhood.
Dr Muhammad Saleem said that the Pakhtuns should take guidance from the struggle of the two great leaders, who selflessly worked for the attainment of rights of the Pakhtuns.Abdul Raziq Afridi stated that the prevailing violence and instability in the Pakhtuns belt stemmed from non-adherence to Bacha Khan’s philosophy of non-violence.
