20 more CM’s aides, govt spokespersons appointed
The Sindh government on Monday appointed another 12 people as special assistants to the chief minister (SACMs), and eight more people as the provincial administration’s spokespersons.
According to the notifications issued in this regard, the newly appointed SACMs are Peer Syed Afzal Shah, Liaquat Askani, Tanzeela Umme Habiba, Amir Hamza Rais, Muhammad Raza Haroon, Khair Muhammad Shaikh, Kalsoom Chandio, Amanullah Mehsood, Muhammad Ali Rashid, Muhammad Ali Bhutto, Hussain Aslam and Veerji Kohli.
The newly appointed spokespersons for the provincial government are Nadir Nabeel Gabol, Sukhdev Assardas Hemnani, Buland Khan Junejo, Sumeta Afzal, Syeda Tahseen Abidi, Heer Soho, Syeda Aqraba Fatima and Mustafa Abdullah Baloch.
The number of Sindh government spokespersons has increased to 15, and there are now 22 special assistants to the CM. A spokesman for the CM told The News that there was no constitutional restriction on the appointment of special assistants to the CM. He said the provincial cabinet mainly comprised ministers and advisers to theCM, and the constitutional binding was only for the provincial ministers.
Answering a query about the induction of new spokespersons while talking to media persons at the Sindh Assembly, Sindh's Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that having multiple spokespersons is beneficial. He added that it would be advantageous for each department to have its own spokesperson, emphasising that this was not a new practice.
