CM’s aide vows to facilitate contractors
BARA: Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Communications and Works Sohail Afridi on Saturday said the government was committed to resolving the challenges being faced by contractors.
Speaking at the oath taking ceremony of the newly-elected office-bearers of the Khyber Contractors Association, he said the government would spare no effort to resolve the financial issues of the contractors.
Earlier, he administered oaths to the office-bearers of the association.
Sohail Afridi said the tribal districts were facing economic challenges and efforts were being made to address them.
He said reforms had been initiated in the C&W department in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa so that it could be developed on modern lines.
“We are working to introduce an online bill payments system to ensure transparency and efficiency in financial matters,” he added.
He criticised the federal government for being unable to release the promised funds for the tribal districts.
Sohail Afridi said the government was taking steps to meet the lawful demands of the contractors and facilitate them.
He said the development projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be completed with transparency so that facilities could be provided to the people. He added that all possible steps would be taken to put Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the path of development.
Meanwhile, Members National Assembly Iqbal Afridi and Zubair Wazir, MPA Abdul Ghani Afridi, former MNA Gul Zafar, chief engineers C&W and other officials attended the ceremony.
