PTI leader subtly seeks US meddling in Pak internal affairs
Atif Khan states that understanding founder’s views on US intervention at this time was unnecessary
PESHAWAR: Atif Khan, a leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) presently in the United States, has subtly called for US intervention in Pakistan’s internal matters.
According to Geo News, American author Michael Kugelman had earlier shared on social media that he was curious about the PTI founder’s thoughts on his potential release as a result of US involvement.
In response, Atif Khan stated that understanding the founder’s views at this time was unnecessary. He said the US had historically used its influence in Pakistan to achieve its objectives.
Atif Khan suggested that this influence could instead be directed toward the betterment of the Pakistani people.
The PTI leader, who was a provincial minister in the past when the party was in power for the first time after winning the 2013 general election in KP, emphasized that Pakistani expatriates should be viewed as allies rather than adversaries.
He argued that their support could lead to numerous initiatives for Pakistan’s progress and strengthening.
Atif Khan said the PTI had straightforward demands — the restoration of the people’s mandate in Pakistan and respect for their fundamental rights.
