POs among 29 arrested in Nowshera
NOWSHERA: At least 29 accused, including nine proclaimed offenders, were arrested and weapons were seized during targeted search and strike operations in various areas of the district.
On the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Azhar Khan, targeted search and strike operations were carried out across the district under the supervision of Circle SDPOs at the police station and police post levels to apprehend the anti-social elements.
During the search, raids were carried out on the hideouts of wanted criminals and nine proclaimed offenders involved in murder, attempted murder, and other serious crimes were arrested. Action was also taken against facilitators supporting criminal activities.
During house-to-house searches, nine persons residing illegally and violating the Tenancy Act were also arrested.The police arrested 11 persons for possessing illegal weapons and seized three Kalashnikovs, eight pistols and hundreds of rounds of various bores from them.Similarly, several drug traffickers were also taken into custody and 14kg and 410 grams of hashish and 1kg and 540 grams of crystal meth (ice) were recovered from them.
