‘Perfect fitness, proper diet key to success in games’

LAHORE:The perfect fitness and proper diet of athletes played an important part in achieving success in any competition especially sports activities and that’s why all the coaches and officers concerned have been directed to focus on these two components while preparing Punjab contingent for Inter-Provincial Quaid-e-Azam Games.

DG Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry said this during his inspection visit to different venues in Nishtar Park Sports Complex (NPSC) on Monday. During his visit, Khizar Afzaal reviewed the performance and fitness of camp probable and training methods of coaches at girls’ volleyball, girls/boys karate, athletics, football and boxing camps.

He said that the Inter-Provincial Quaid-e-Azam Games are a major event and our coaches and trainers are preparing our athletes accordingly to produce encouraging results in the event to be organised at Islamabad from December 13 to 19, 2024.

Our expert coaches are giving final touches to the preparations of our contingent and we are quite upbeat that our athletes will exhibit satisfactory performances in all events of Quaid-e-Azam Games and return as winners, he added.

He said that full training of Punjab athletes is underway at various venues of Nishtar Park Sports Complex. “The male and female athletes of 15 games are being imparted best training in morning and evening sessions daily. Punjab contingent will participate in the Inter-Provincial Quaid-e-Azam Games with full preparation,” he added. Khizar was accompanied by Director Admin Dr M Kaleem, Director Sports Rana Nadeem Anjum and other officials during his inspection visit.
