Malikdinkhels seek resolution of land dispute
BARA: The members of the Malikdinkhel tribe on Monday asked the district administration to resolve their land dispute with the Sipah tribe.
Speaking at a press conference here, Sohail Khan, Malik Safeer Khan, Arif Ali and others claimed that the Sipah tribe had illegally occupied their land. They added that the land of the Malikdinkhel tribe from Nala Khwar to Bara Bazaar on the boundary with Peshawar had been occupied by the Sipah tribe.
“We held several jirgas before the merger of the ex-Fata under the supervision of the political administration, but to no avail,” Malik Safeer said, adding that the political administration had banned construction work on the disputed land.
He maintained that the land dispute case had been pending before a court but their opponents had started construction work on it.Malik Safeer explained despite the stay order, the Sipah tribespeople had started the construction work which was contempt of court. “We are ready to hold a jirga to resolve the dispute between the two tribes,” he said.
