PMLN UK chapter gets new leadership
Dr Ashraf Chohan has been made party's chairman while Rashid Hashmi appointed secretary general
LONDON: The Pakistan Muslim League-N leadership announced a new leadership of the party’s UK chapter.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, who also oversees PMLN’s overseas matters, has announced the new setup approved by the party President Nawaz Sharif.
Ashan Dar has been made president of the PMLN UK, Rashid Hashmi Secretary General, Dr Ashraf Chohan Chairman, while Zubair Gull has been given the position of coordinator UK. Dar and Chohan are successful businesspersons in the UK.
Sources claim Zubair Gull is one of the most trusted party loyalists but was sidelined as the coordinator post is ceremonial in nature.
A PMLN spokesperson said the party appreciated Zubair Gull’s services but the UK chapter needed fresh blood. The spokesperson said: “Ahsan Dar is a dynamic person who has the ability to take the party forward through re-organisation. Zubair Gull and Ahsan Dar are working together.”
