Catch-up vaccination drive begins in Upper Dir
DIR: The Health Department has launched a 12-day “big catch up” vaccination campaign starting October 1 to immunize children under 5 against 12 diseases in Upper Dir.
District Health Officer Dr Khalid, MS DHQ hospital Dr Imtiaz Ahmad and EPI district coordinator Dr Zahid Khan told reporters that the 12- day campaign started on October 1 and would continue till 12.
“Teams of EPI workers have been formed across the district,” said the DHO.
He appealed to the public, especially the parents, to immunize their children against various diseases like measles, smallpox, meningitis, pneumonia, hepatitis etc.“It is the responsibility of all of us, including parents, to fulfill our obligations to bring the children to the EPI centres or contact the mobile teams,” he added.
