Usama to skip remaining Champions Cup matches
FAISALABAD: Usama Mir, the Panthers’ all-rounder, will miss upcoming matches in the Champions Cup as he prepares to leave for England due to family commitments.
Sources revealed that the 28-year-old had notified the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in advance of his unavailability due to personal obligations. The right-arm leg-spinner has played in only three matches for the Panthers this season.
Mir was also absent from the Panthers’ last match match against the Stallions on Saturday due to illness. The player had suffered from food poisoning recently and is reportedly still recovering.
Despite his limited appearances, Usama has made a notable impact in the tournament, taking five wickets. His standout performance came in the fifth match, where he claimed the wickets of Irfan Khan, Shaheen Afridi, and Ahmed Daniyal against the Lions. In an earlier fixture, he dismissed Muhammad Akhlaq and Sahibzada Farhan while playing against the Dolphins.
