Families of 27 martyred cops get plots documents

LAHORE:IGP Punjab handed over plots documents for the construction of personal homes to the families of 27 martyrs from Sahiwal district.

A large number of families of the martyrs from Sahiwal district attended the ceremony held at the Central Police Office. During his address, IGP said that the mission to provide homes to the families of police martyrs before 2017 is rapidly moving towards completion. Out of the 76 martyrs from the Sahiwal region prior to 2017, plots have been provided to the families of 59. All 27 martyrs’ families from Pakpattan, as well as the families of 37 martyrs from Okara, have also received plot files. IG further said that Punjab Police has so far provided plots to 681 out of 1,375 police martyrs who embraced martyrdom before 2017. Police department has also provided 23 families with Rs38 million to help in the construction of houses.

PSCA releases eight-month report

Punjab Safe Cities Authority has released its eight-month report, which highlights a significant drop in calls to Emergency Helpline 15 regarding serious crime incidents and street crime.

According to the report, there was an overall 11% decrease in calls related to property crimes received on Helpline 15. From January to August this year, there was a 10% decrease in robbery-related calls compared to the same period last year. Calls about vehicle snatching incidents saw a 20% reduction from January to August, while car theft cases calls dropped by 23%, and motorcycle thefts decreased by 20%. Additionally, calls regarding other vehicle snatching incidents saw a 22% decline. Overall, in the past eight months, there has been an 11% reduction in registered property crime cases compared to last year. Registered dacoity cases have dropped by 34% and robbery cases by 15%.
