SBBU holds workshop on ‘Nutrition in Emergencies’
DIR: A five-day training workshop on “Nutrition in Emergencies” concluded at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University (SBBU), Sheringal, on Saturday.
Organised by Khyber Medical University (KMU) and SBBU’s Department of Pharmacy in collaboration with UNICEF, the workshop provided practical training on managing nutrition in emergency situations.
KMU trainers Amjad Ali Bacha, Shujaat Faqir, Dr BB Hajira, and Farrokh Saeed led the sessions, which included hands-on training for participants. The closing ceremony was attended by department heads, Director Finance Sahibzada Murad Hussain, administrative officers, and students.
Prof Dr Ziauddin delivered a detailed lecture on nutrition education, followed by a question-and-answer session.
Dr Abidullah, the workshop’s organiser and postgraduate trainer, said that the students and faculty participated in the workshop with great interest, adding that said that the trainers shared valuable experiences and research.
Dr Shujaat Ahmed, chairman of the Department of Pharmacy, thanked UNICEF and KMU for their collaboration and said that the workshop was of great importance and would hopefully yield positive results. Certificates and cash prizes were distributed among the participants at the conclusion of the event.
