One killed in roof collapse incident

TIMERGARA: A man was killed when the roof of an under-construction school building collapsed in the Maidan area in Lower Dir on Sunday.Police officials said that Muhammad Ali Jan, stated to be the contractor, was apparently checking the work on the under-construction building of Government Girls High School (GGHS) Shagai when the roof caved-in.

The rescue emergency team rushed to the site and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him as dead. An official of the Construction and Works(C&W) Department said that the deceased identified as Muhammad Ali Jan, 50, hailing from Brawal in Upper Dir, was checking the roof-filling process when a wooden rod broke down.
