ISLAMABAD: The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Thursday expressed serious reservations about certain clauses of the Supreme Court’s decision in Mubarak Sani case.
Chaired by its Chairman Allama Raghib Hussain Naeemi, the Council in its 238th meeting declared that there were some aspects in the apex court’s July 24, 2024 decision in Mubarak Sani case which it deemed incorrect and felt that the apex court should review it and address the reservations which would be conveyed through a letter.
“The Council of Islamic Ideology will soon send a report on reservations to the Supreme Court,” said a statement issued by the CII.
The Council also expected the prime minister to play his effective role in this connection.
The Council also declared that the Supreme Court’s decision had created unrest in the country, as apart from legal matters, the issue also pertained to faith in and love for the Holy Prophet (SAW). “All the segments should with mutual reconciliation try to resolve the issue,” it added.
