UoP gets pro-VC

PESHAWAR: The University of Peshawar finally got a pro-vice-chancellor, who will also fill the vacant office of the vice-chancellor of the university.
According to a notification issued here on Wednesday, Prof Dr Naeem Qazi, dean faculty of social sciences of the university has been appointed as pro-vice-chancellor of the university till his retirement in April 2006.
The university has been functioning without a regular vice-chancellor for the past several months. During the past over two weeks, there was no vice-chancellor of the university at all even on an acting basis. With the appointment of the pro-vice-chancellor, the office will now not remain vacant at least for the next two years.
