LALAMUSA: A six-month-old child was killed and others were injured when the roof of their house collapsed due to heavy rain at Kotla Arab Ali Khan village.

The family was present in the house when its roof collapsed. As a result, the child was killed and other family members were injured. Meanwhile, expressing condolences, DC Safdar Hussain assured that all necessary medical facilities would be provided to the injured. “The roof collapse incident is a heartbreaking reminder of the vulnerabilities many of our rural communities face,” stated the Deputy Commissioner. “We are committed to ensuring the best possible care for the injured girl and her family. No stone will be left unturned in her treatment.”

Earlier, the heat wave that had gripped Lalamusa and its surrounding areas finally ended with heavy rains that began just after sunrise on Thursday. The much-needed downpour started at 5:30am and continued until 9:30am, bringing relief and suffering to the residents.

The rain provided a welcome respite from the scorching heat, significantly lowering the temperatures. However, it also caused significant disruptions. Low-lying areas quickly became inundated, leading to waterlogged roads, streets, and paths. Key areas affected included service road, fruit and vegetable market, and bazaars, where citizens struggled to navigate the flooded streets.
