MANSEHRA: A jirga held in the Judbah area of Torghar on Tuesday demanded the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police chief to ensure arrests of all those involved in the murder of a local man.

“This jirga is being held on the request of a local woman who seeks Inspector General of Police Akhtar Hayat Khan’s help in arresting murderers of her son,” Farmanullah Khan, one of the elders, said.

The jirga was attended by elders of various villages and sought an immediate arrest of Muhammad Amin’s killers.

According to the jirga, the body of the slain Amin was dumped in the dense Domail forest area.

“Muhammad Amin was brutally killed by unidentified assailants on June 28 this year. However, the police have failed to find any clue to the killers,” Asghar Khan, another jirga member, said.

He said that Amin’s aged mother of the slain youth had personally approached the jirga and police but the murderers were still untraced.

“We want local police to solve this blind murder to dispense justice to an aged woman with justice,” Obaidullah Khan, a jirga member, said.

The jirga members later on met with Superintendent Police (Investigation) Shahnawaz Khan, Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohammad Asif and SHO Saqib Faraz and demanded an immediate arrest of Amin’s assailants.
