Directive to accelerate activation of new sports complexes
LAHORE:The sports officers of various districts have been directed to make the fully constructed sports complexes and facilities functional as soon as possible.
DG Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal issued this directive while chairing a meeting at the National Hockey Stadium on Monday. The meeting was convened to review the handing/taking over procedure of fully constructed sports complexes across the province.
The session saw participation from Deputy Director Planning Tariq Khanzada, Assistant Director Mubasher Shaheen, SBP Administrator National Hockey Stadium Sufi Abdus Sattar Masoomi, and officers of Project Management Unit (PMU). Additionally, district sports officers from various districts including Lahore, Chiniot, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Jhang, Multan, and others joined via video link.
During the meeting, Pervez Iqbal highlighted the Sports Board Punjab’s commitment to fostering a robust sports culture in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. He referenced recent successful events such as the First CM Pink Games and Summer Sports Games, along with division-wide summer camps.Iqbal also instructed relevant officers to kickstart activities at fully completed sports facilities and announced plans for constructing new complexes in underserved areas.
