Rs187.365bn go to Punjab Police
LAHORE:The Punjab government has allocated Rs187.365 billion as non-development budget for Punjab police while no new development schemes have been approved in the budget for the financial year 2024-25.
According to the budget document, issued here Thursday, out of Rs187.365 billion, employees related expenses will be Rs156.259 billion, including Rs71.407 billion for pay and Rs84.851 billion for allowances. While Rs20.254 billion had been allocated for operating expenses, Rs1.240 billion for employees’ retirement benefits, Rs3.888 billion for grant subsidies and written-off loans, Rs315 million for transfers, Rs2.209 billion for physical assets and Rs3.180 billion for repair and maintenance.
It is worth mentioning that Punjab Police will not receive funding for any new projects in the upcoming financial year. The Punjab government has allocated Rs7 billion for the ongoing 147 schemes for the new fiscal year.
