LAHORE:Punjab Police Monday tightened security measures for churches, sacred minority religious sites, and the Christian community across the province.
Inspector General Police (IGP), Punjab, Usman Anwar emphasised the need for political leadership and the Christian community to collaborate with police to maintain peace. He lauded Sargodha Police for handling the most challenging situation.
The IGP stated this during a meeting with former minister Ejaz Alam Augustine, lawmakers Tariq Gill, Shakeela Arthar, Waseem Sindhu, Bishop Asif, and social activist Samson Bhatti, who met him at the Central Police Office. The minority delegation suggested interfaith committees at the provincial and district levels to prevent such incidents in the future.
