13 injured in hotel fire incident
LAHORE: At least 13 people were injured in an incident of fire in a private hotel near Lorry Ada in Badami Bagh. The hotel caught fire after a cylinder exploded with a huge explosion. The victims were trapped in the hotel. Rescue 1122 teams reached the spot on information and extinguished the fire. They also evacuated the victims and shifted them to a nearby hospital.
Delivery boy arrested for bogus call on 15
Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate police arrested a courier service delivery boy for making a bogus call on police helpline 15. The suspect identified as Abdul Rehman wanted to commit financial fraud with the company. He made a call that two suspects had snatched Rs100,000 and two mobile phones from him. Police responded to the call and started investigation. During the investigation, it was revealed that the delivery boy lodged a fake complaint. Police arrested him along with his two accomplices identified as Kamran and M Shakeel. A case has been registered against them.
Feat for cop’s daughter
Aliza Faheem, the daughter of Sub-Inspector Faheem Akbar serving in Punjab Police, has achieved remarkable success in the CSS examination. Aliza Faheem secured the tenth position nationwide in the examination and was appointed as Assistant Commissioner. Additional IG Investigation Punjab, M Idrees offered to cover all expenses related to Aliza Faheem's education. Meanwhile, IGP Dr. Usman Anwar extended his warm congratulations to Sub Inspector Khadim Hussain on his son, Mohsin Khadim, receiving the Sword of Honour during his training in the Pakistan Air Force.
Robber arrested
A Dolphin Squad team arrested a robber who would hit his motorcycle to cars and motorbikes at signal and rob citizens. According to the details, Safe City captured a video of the robber, riding a motorcycle who intentionally hit a car stopped at a traffic signal and then tried to rob the occupants at gunpoint. When the car occupants resisted, the robber fired a shot. The Dolphin Force arrived at the scene after hearing the gunshot and chased the robber, who tried to flee but was eventually caught with the help of Safe City's virtual patrolling officer. A case was registered against the robber, and legal proceedings have begun. The spokesperson for PSCA stated that citizens are urged to report any emergencies to 15 immediately.
Road accidents
At least 12 people were killed and 1,426 others injured in 1,332 road traffic crashes in Punjab during the last 24 hours.As many as 609 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 817 with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by the rescue medical teams.The statistics showed that 289 accidents were reported in Lahore, which affected 312 persons placing the provincial capital at top of the list followed by Multan 100 in with 109 victims and at third Faisalabad with 91 accidents and 93 victims. According to the data, 1,182 motorbikes 86 auto-rickshaws, 132 motorcars, 32 vans, eight passenger buses, 28 truck and 104 other types of auto vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in the road accidents.
