Three of a family among four die in accidents

LAHORE : A father and his two minor children died on Saturday when a speeding tractor-trolley collided with their motorcycle on Raiwind Road in Manga Mandi.

Sharif, accompanied by his six-year-old daughter Faria and three-year-old son Sabir, was en route on his bike when the reckless tractor-trolley ploughed into them. The impact was devastating, leaving the trio fatally wounded under the massive wheels of the vehicle. Eyewitnesses recounted the horror, describing the chaotic scene as bystanders rushed to help.

Despite their efforts, Sharif, Faria, and Sabir succumbed to their injuries on the spot, leaving a community in mourning and a family shattered by an unfathomable loss. The tragic incident also left two others injured, highlighting the grave consequences of reckless driving.

Amidst shock and grief, voices of anger and frustration resonated among the gathered crowd, directed towards the authorities for their perceived failure to curb reckless driving.

Many questioned the effectiveness of the traffic police in ensuring road safety and holding errant drivers accountable. The tragic loss of lives served as a grim reminder of the urgent need for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations and measures to prevent such senseless accidents.

Following necessary police procedures, the bodies of the victims were solemnly transported to the mortuary by Edhi Ambulance, where they await final arrangements for burial.

Meanwhile, in another tragic incident in Phase-8 Defence, 30-year-old Khalid met with a similar fate due to overspeeding.

The victim’s body was subsequently handed over to his grieving family, who now must grapple with the painful reality of their loved one’s untimely demise.
