ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has decided to name a new highway of Islamabad after the name of Iran on the occasion of the visit of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi to show solidarity with the brotherly country.
Sources said the Eleventh Avenue has been named Iran Avenue as per the federal government decision. The decision has been accorded by the federal cabinet on the CDA summary through circulation. It may be noted that the CDA has started the construction of Eleventh Avenue.
In phase one, it has been extended from Sector D-12 to E-11 North-East corner, where an interchange has also been constructed on the Khayaban Iqbal. In phase two, it will be extended up to IJ Principal Road.
