PESHAWAR: Advisor to Chief Minister on Tourism, Culture and Archeology Zahid Chanzeb on Saturday praised the beautiful display of tourism and cultural potential on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa float in Pakistan Day Parade.

“Every nook and corner of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is replete with vast tourism potential and unique cultures, and we are striving hard to exploit these assets for the benefit of people and province,” he said while commenting on participation of KP float in the Pakistan Day parade in Islamabad.

He said that strenuous efforts were being made to present a soft image of the province to the world so tourism could be promoted at the grassroots level.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA) erected a cultural float that showcased the land of ancient civilization, rich cultures, brave and hospitable people, e-governance system, Tourism Police, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), historic sites, traditional Khattak dance, the famous musical instrument Rabab and much more.

KPCTA Director General Barkatullah Marwat said that like other provinces, the KPCTA had also

prepared a decorated

float, which beautifully presented the essence of tourism and cultures in the province.

In front of the float, he said the Administration Block of the University of Peshawar was smartly designed. Established in 1950, he said the University of Peshawar was one of the oldest educational institutions of Pakistan that has equipped thousands of people with the ornament of education and produced

great personalities in almost all the fields since its inception.

The Swat Motorway tunnel was another eye-catching image having a 160-km four-lane highway managed by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. It helps tourists from across the country to access the Swat Valley and other northern regions.

The float also contains the gateway to the subcontinent - the famous Bab-e-Khyber - located near the Pak-Afghan border.
