Leaders of both the parties said on Sunday that the recent elections were held on the decision of the Supreme Court, therefore a judicial commission should be constituted under the Supreme Court to investigate such bogus elections.

This was said as a delegation of the PTI headed by its Sindh president Haleem Adil Sheikh and comprising Sindh PTI General Secretary Ali Palh and Additional General Secretary Agha Arsalan met GDA central leader Sadruddin Shah Rashidi at the latter’s residence in Karachi.

GDA General Secretary Dr Safdar Ali Abbasi, Information Secretary Sardar Abdul Rahim and Minority Wing Sindh President Nand Kumar Goklani were also present on the occasion.

The PTI and GDA leaders said a judicial investigation must be conducted into the allegations of rigging so that the stolen public mandate could be handed over to the real representatives. The meeting discussed the ongoing protest movement against the allegedly fraudulent elections and the two sides agreed on a joint struggle till the public mandate was accepted.

The PTI and GDA leaders said the Election Commission of Pakistan had conducted bogus elections in violation of the Article 218/3 of the Constitution, therefore the chief election commissioner and members of the ECP should resign immediately.

The PTI also agreed to fully participate in the GDA sit-in on February 20 in Moro in Naushehro Feroz district. Sheikh said PTI workers would participate in the GDA protest on the instructions of the party chairman.

The GDA information secretary said the alliance would soon call a joint opposition meeting. Sheikh also expressed gratitude to the GDA leadership on behalf of the PTI’s central leadership.
