Police ready for peaceful polling, says IGP
LAHORE : Inspector General Police Punjab (IGP) Dr Usman Anwar has said police force is fully prepared and ready for peaceful elections.
Punjab Police is ensuring peaceful and transparent elections with all other national institutions of Pakistan. Dr Usman Anwar made it clear that strict legal action will be taken against those who tried to breach the code of conduct of election commission. IG said that those who violate the law and tried any activity for violating the election code of conduct will be dealt with iron hands.
He said all law-enforcement agencies are going to conduct the election together under the leadership of the Election Commission. He said Punjab Police along with NRTC have installed cameras at the most sensitive and sensitive polling stations, along with the security forces, these CCTV cameras are there for security surveillance at the places and for monitoring of election material.
