Arms, ammunition recovered in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: The police during a raid on a godown recovered a huge quantity of imported ammunition in Paharipura and arrested one person.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Faqirabad Waseem Riaz told reporters that the godown was raided in Paharipura police over a tip-off from where 300 imported rifles, 30 pistols and 10,000 rounds were recovered.
The police arrested one Khalid from Chamkani from the spot. The police said there was a ban on the import of guns for over one and a half years. The official said the imported guns used to be smuggled from Afghanistan and then transported down the country.
