World urged to take note of Indian atrocities in held Kashmir

PESHAWAR: Caretaker Minister for Information and Public Relations, Culture, and Tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Barrister Feroz Jamal Shah Kakakhel inaugurated a photo exhibition on Friday, marking Kashmir Solidarity Day.

Organised by the Culture and Tourism Authority, the exhibition focuses on the plight of people in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K).

Addressing the gathering, Kakakhel emphasised the resilience of Kashmiris against Indian oppression. He paid homage to the martyrs and those who resisted Indian atrocities, asserting that India’s attempts to suppress the spirit of freedom among Kashmiris have consistently failed.

Highlighting the need for a just resolution to the Jammu and Kashmir conflict, the minister emphasised adherence to the UN Security Council resolutions. He urged the international community, especially Islamic countries, to press India to cease human rights violations, withdraw unilateral actions, and implement UN resolutions for a peaceful solution.

Expressing unwavering solidarity, the minister conveyed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stood firmly with Kashmiris in their quest for self-determination. He assured full political, moral, and diplomatic support.

In a broader context, the minister addressed atrocities on Muslims in Gaza, calling for the UN Security Council and Islamic countries to ensure peace. He expressed full solidarity with Palestinians against Israeli oppression and pledged ongoing support until a permanent solution is achieved.

The exhibition and walk aimed to raise awareness about the Kashmiri people’s plight and the importance of recognising their right to self-determination. The event was attended by government officials, including DG Information Muhammad Imran, DG Tourism Barkatullah, civil society, media representatives, and the general public.

Our correspondent adds from Haripur: The children with disabilities expressed solidarity with the oppressed people of Occupied Kashmir at a function arranged here on at the Government Institute for Children with Hearing and Speech Impairment.

The Social Welfare Department and the Provincial Council for the Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons (PCRDP), had jointly organized the event. The students with disabilities from different grades presented the national anthem, tableaus and songs highlighting the plight of the Kashmiri people at the hands of Indian security forces. The participants also staged a walk.

Speaking on this occasion, the deputy commissioner said the provincial government was taking all out efforts to transform the life of children with disabilities into productive and self-dependent citizens like the normal children.

He listed the measures the KP government and its departments had taken for the children with disabilities to address their problems and promised to extend his every support to the institutes which were imparting education or skills to the children with disabilities.

The official appreciated the contribution of the PCRDP for providing teachers to the Government Institute for Children with Hearing and Speech Impairment, Haripur, as the facility was faced with a shortage of teachers. He distributed cash stipends provided by PCRDP among the students.
